Editor's note Miss Molkoy, a British Muslim and a trained nurse has been carryingout researchfor the Certiftcate in the Study of Islam at the Centre for the Study of Islam and Christian-Muslim relations. This paper is based on that research. In collecting her evidence on attitudes to medical ethics Miss Molloy explores with her survey sample such topics as contraception, life support machines, transplants, resuscitation and euthanasia. As the number of participants in her survey is small it cannot be classed as being'scientifically valid', but it does highlight many ofthe very painful dilemmas faced by Bnrtish Muslim medical
